Dealer miss the mark with automatics and hybrids but close the gap on price and colour
Customer demand for automatics shows no sign of giving up. Extra adverts for automatics remains the single biggest opportunity for dealers in March and, we expect, for many more months to come. Also, 1 in 3 clicks are now going on hybrids - up threefold in two months - but supply isn’t keeping pace. Demand now outstrips supply by 10 to 1.
Dealers have risen to January’s challenge by listing more adverts for black cars. This is exactly what customers wanted. Dealers have also managed to stay in near-perfect harmony with customer demand on the price for the second month in a row - a great success after a series of missteps at the end of last year.
